These shades are ideal for almost any window and room. Roman shades can be made of fabric or natural products such as bamboo and seagrass. Custom fabric roman shades can be embellished with ribbon or trim depending on your taste and can have a flat, studio or hobbled design to express your style. They inherently have soft folds in the fabric and create an elegant finish to any room, providing a soft valance look when fully raised.
Roller shades have a simplistic design enabling them to be be rolled out of the way discreetly if you want to have full window visibility. The roll up window shades can be rolled up to the farthest point. Roller shades are a simple, classic option for any style of interior due to the fabulous fabrics available now and the simple operation that is fairly lightweight to raise and lower, depending on your window size A popular option is the solar shade which is made of a screen weave fabric which allows some view through while protecting your home from some heat gain and harmful UV rays. Please keep in mind that if you can see outside during the day, people can see in during the evening hours with the interior lights on.
Cellular window shades, or honeycomb shades are a soft fabric window treatment often used in entire homes due to their versatility, cordless options and top down bottom up feature. They can function for privacy, room darkening and semi-transparency depending on your final selections. They are constructed with a honeycomb design which creates an air pocket to insulate the room, thereby keeping the heat in and cold out.
These proprietary shades available exclusively through Hunter Douglas allow beautiful diffusion of light to come through the sheers while allowing you the versatility to close the pirouette or fabric vane to create privacy. Both shades operate on a tube, thereby allowing them to be fully raised to allow your window to be free of any stacking that a typical roman shade will have.
Roman shades are ideal for the kitchen, especially above the sink, where you can select a designer fabric to accentuate your granite or bring in a pop of color. Roller shades and or solar shades are also a popular selection due to their carefree maintenance.
Roman shades or honeycombs are perfect for bathrooms. The honeycombs can also open from the top to give you privacy from the neck down, allowing ease of use especially in your windows located above the tub.
Honeycombs, rollers or silhouettes are popular shades for the living areas. If you want privacy with diffused light a silhouette is a perfect option or a top down bottom up honeycomb.
The most popular room darkening shade is the honeycomb due to its tighter fit and small stack; when you combine this with the top down bottom up feature it allows for optimal versatility. Selecting room dimming roller shades helps to keep out unwanted light, however there is a light gap at the side that may be important to note. Roman shades with a room darkening liner are perfect to insulate the room and block sunlight.
The honeycomb shades are available in a wide variety of sizes, whether vertical or horizontal. Depending on the light blocking options you can choose sheer to opaque. You can choose from the Applause honeycombs or the Duette collection to meet your operating needs, fabric selections or insulating value.
Vignette modern Roman shades have different fold styles and sizes from which to choose. They have consistent folds and their cords are not exposed, providing optimal child and pet safety features.
These elegant shades are available in woven and non-woven fabrics. They are cellular in shape and have room darkening and light filtering options.
Silhouette window shades have fabric vanes suspended between two layers of sheer, thus creating a beautiful diffusion of light. You can tilt the vanes to play with the light, or close them for privacy.
Pirouette Window Shades provide a unique, contemporary look to your home. The innovative soft “pirouettes” open and close to filter and diffuse light. When fully closed they can mimic the look of a studio roman shade without the cords on the backside.
